Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 22 February 2025
By downloading, installing, or using the SAS-ROSET Graphical (ROS Encryption Tool) ("the Tool"), you
agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with
these terms, do not use the Tool
1. License
The SAS-ROSET Graphical (ROS Encryption Tool) is an open-source software released under the GNU
General Public License (GPL) v3.0. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the Tool in accordance with
the terms of the GPLv3 license.
For more details on the terms of the GPLv3 license, visit GNU General Public License v3.0.
2. Software Description
SAS-ROSET Graphical (ROS Encryption Tool) is an experimental application that provides access to
the SAS-RCS and SAS-RBS encryption algorithms. These algorithms are experimental and are no longer considered secure.
They have been shown to be vulnerable to certain types of attacks. The effectiveness and security of these
algorithms are not guaranteed, and users should not use the algorithms, their associated tool, or code, especially for securing sensitive data.
3. No Data Collection
The SAS-ROSET Graphical (ROS Encryption Tool) does not collect any data. The software operates locally
on your device, and no personal information, usage data, or other data is transmitted to external servers
or third parties.
4. No Warranty / "As-Is" Basis
The Tool is provided on an "as-is" basis, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but
not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The
developers and contributors to the Tool make no claims regarding the Tool’s performance, security, or
suitability for any particular use case.
You agree to use the Tool at your own risk. The developers and contributors shall not be held liable for
any damages, including but not limited to loss of data, system malfunctions, or any indirect, incidental,
or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Tool
5. No Modification of Data
The Tool does not alter or modify any original data. It operates by generating an encrypted copy of the
data. The original data remains unaltered, and the Tool only creates encrypted versions for secure
storage or transmission. It is your responsibility to ensure the integrity of the original data before and
after encryption.
6. Key File Safekeeping
The Tool generates encryption keys that are essential for both encrypting and decrypting data. It is your
sole responsibility to securely store and back up these key files. If you lose or corrupt your encryption
key file, you will not be able to decrypt your data.
The developers and contributors do not take responsibility for the loss, corruption, or theft of key files.
We strongly advise you to keep multiple copies of the key file in secure, reliable locations.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the developers or contributors to the Tool be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental,
special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Tool, including but not limited to loss of
data, data corruption, loss of encryption keys, or any other damages, even if the developers have been
advised of the possibility of such damages.
The Tool is intended for use as an experimental encryption tool for research and education only, and any damages arising from its use, misuse, or
incorrect implementation of the software are solely the responsibility of the user.
8. Security and Cryptanalysis
The SAS-RCS and SAS-RBS encryption algorithms are experimental and subject to ongoing cryptanalysis.
They have been shown to be vulnerable, and future research may reveal additional weaknesses or flaws.
As such, you should NOT use these algorithms, their associated tools, or code for securing sensitive
data or in any environment requiring high-security standards. For critical applications, it is strongly
recommended to use established encryption methods and seek guidance from qualified cryptographic professionals.
9. Modification and Distribution
You may modify, distribute, or use the software in accordance with the terms of the GPLv3 license.
However, if you redistribute the Tool or any modified version, you must:
• Include a copy of this Terms and Conditions document.
• Ensure that the license terms are respected, and that users are aware that the software is
released under the GPLv3.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the developers, contributors, and affiliated entities harmless from any
claims, losses, damages, or legal expenses arising from your use or misuse of the Tool. This includes
any third-party claims resulting from your actions or inactions.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on the official
website or distribution platform, and the updated Terms will be effective upon posting. It is your responsibility
to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any changes.
